Soft Tissue Lumps & Bumps Scan

This scan can be used to assess most areas of the body where there is a soft tissue lump or swelling. Your Sonographer will focus on the specific area of concern at your appointment.

This scan does not include:

• Breast tissue
• Thyroid
• Armpits (axilla)

No preparation is needed.

Please wear loose clothing that allows easy access to the area being scanned.

Ultrasound gel is applied to the skin and the Sonographer moves the probe over the area of concern to capture images of the tissues beneath the skin. The scan is non-invasive and does not use radiation.

Ultrasound is usually painless.

You may feel slight pressure from the probe, particularly if the lump or area is tender.

The scan can provide valuable diagnostic information about the appearance of a lump (such as whether it looks like a cyst, lipoma, or another soft tissue swelling).

If anything requires further assessment, your report will recommend medical follow-up.

You will receive a clear written report with your scan findings and your next steps:

• No Further Action, or
• Medical Follow-Up Recommended
