Kidneys, Bladder & Prostate Scan

Includes PSA Blood Test. This scan is available to people over 45 years of age.

A kidney and bladder ultrasound, also known as the urinary tract is dedicated scan designed to look at the kidneys, ureters (if visible) and urinary bladder. It can help in the detection of cysts, tumours, renal scarring, abscesses, obstructions, fluid collection, and sometimes infection within or around the kidneys/bladder. The scan can also detect any variation in anatomy such as duplex system or horseshoe kidney. We can also measure the size of the prostate and whether it is enlarged.

* This package includes the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test. The test measures the amount of PSA, a protein produced by normal prostate cells, in your blood. An elevated PSA level may indicate an issue with your prostate, such as an enlarged prostate, prostatitis, a urinary tract infection, or prostate cancer. It is advisable to discuss the results with your GP promptly.

An ultrasound of your kidneys, bladder and prostate maybe use for you if

• Concerned about kidney or bladder stones
• If you suffer with persistent bladder problems (i.e. cystitis, bladder emptying)
• Struggle with persistent UTI’s
• Reassurance
• Frequent or slow urination
• Discomfort in the pelvic area
• Blood in the urine
• Prostate enlargement
• Reassurance
• Frequent or slow urination
• Family history of prostate cancer
