A scan of your groin will assess for possible hernia including inguinal, femoral or Spigelian.

It is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate the presence of hernias in the groin area, which is a common location for both inguinal and femoral hernias. It involves the use of high frequency sound waves to create the images of the tissues in the groin region.

An ultrasound of your groin maybe useful for you if

  • Lump in the groin (sometimes intermittent)
  • Pain in the groin
  • Swelling in the groin

We recommend if you have any concerning symptom, you should discuss this with your GP first.
