A scan of your aorta is designed to detected and abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that uses soundwaves to create images of the abdominal aorta, the large blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the lower body. The purpose of this scan is used to evaluate the aorta, main blood vessel that supplies the body organs. May also assess for any aortic narrowing from calcification plaque or blood clot build up.
An ultrasound of your abdominal aorta maybe useful for you if
- Have a family history of abdominal aneurysm
- Monitoring the size of existing aneurysm
- Reassurance
